The fourth “capsule”

Hey folks it has been a while since I have written here.
After traveling part of the GR11 in the Pyrenees we returned to our workshop in Milan to show you some of the garments we have been working on over the past year.
We mainly focused on two parallel directions, the first includes garments we call Xformance (in Italian the mathematical symbol X is read “per”) and the second garments for pre and post activity.

The garments we have designed for this season always include our carry overs such as Fubar pants, recycled nylon technical jerseys, Mirage jackets, etc. plus new designs, two new styles of pants, lined jackets and fleeces.

We were able for the first time to work with PRIMALOFT® to create an insulated jacket. We chose to work with synthetic fill because we could not find a high-quality down supplier in our area who worked with our terms of quality and ethics. In addition, synthetic fibers unlike natural fibers perform better in wet environments (and given the recent poor predictability of weather phenomena, it seemed more logical for us to do so).

We also worked with regenerated carded wool. A technique in use in Tuscany (the place where the fabric we use is produced) since 1850 and implemented through the addition of polyester and cotton in the spinning process. These fibers keep you warm by controlling perspiration. Polyester on the inside can dry quickly while the wool on the outside absorbs watervapour and lets it slowly evaporate into the air.

Working with the Tonetti spinning mill (located where our garments are made) we used some heavy weight panama cotton for new jackets and pants.
